Facilitation Services

Stiofán has honed his facilitation skills for over 30 years in the business, voluntary and political sectors. His affable personality enables Stiofán to engage and earn the confidence of clients, fellow professionals and members of the public. His planning skills and innovative approaches have delivered successful conferences, events and projects.

2013 – Present

Advised on the design of and facilitated 16 international interactive seminars and conferences, which involved utilizing expert speakers and innovative working methods with participants in Brussels, Ireland and the UK for 3 international organisations. In 2016, Stiofán was appointed as facilitation consultant to and event moderator of the European Ideas Lab held in Brussels during February 2017. Stiofán filled the same role for the Regional Ideas Lab held in Dublin in October 2017 and for the second enlarged 2018 European Ideas Lab, which was held in Brussels in March 2018. The second edition attracted over 500 participants from 27 EU countries. In 2019, Stiofán facilitated the strategy meeting of the Green European Foundation’s General Assembly in Brussels.

Also in 2017, Stiofán moderated a number of sessions at the Global Greens Congress in Liverpool (March 30 to April 2) including the first ever working gathering of Green Foundations from around the world. Facilitation commissions in Ireland have included strategic planning days for the Mediators’ Institute of Ireland, a May 2017 SME Brexit conference for Fingal County Council and public events for other organisations.

In 2018 and 2019, Stiofán planned and facilitated a number of participative events and processes in Ireland for clients such as the Enterprise Ireland / Local Enterprise Office, Fingal Libraries and Balbriggan Enterprise & Training Centre (BEaT).

In 2022, Stiofán provided facilitation services to the Green Party and the Mediators’ Institute of Ireland.

2015 – 2020

In 2015 Stiofán was appointed by the Horticulture Industry Forum (HIF) to work with growers and producers to compile an Action Plan to address serious issues facing the industry. Subsequently the HIF appointed Stiofán as Co-ordinator to work with the stakeholders and oversee the execution of the Action Plan. In March 2017, the Minister of Horticulture and the Department of Agriculture became formally engaged with the HIF and the Minister now co-chairs the meetings of the HIF. In October 2017, Stiofán delivered the Horticulture Industry “Vision” report for HIF. The report sets out the current state of the industry, outlines the challenges facing it and comes with 24 recommendations.

2013 – 2019

Stiofán was appointed as Director of Education at Green Foundation Ireland (GFI) in 2013. Stiofán has facilitated and managed a series of public seminars and three Summer Schools for GFI.

2007

Stiofán was appointed as Project Manager by NAD Ltd to facilitate company staff resources and external agencies to deliver a new 126 page full colour trade catalogue

1999 – 2001

Commissioned by Bord Glas to bring the different sectors of the Amenity Horticulture Industry together to form the Amenity Horticulture Council. Stiofan was subsequently appointed Chairperson for a 2-year term
