My first global event, Horticulture Industry Forum and MII Strategy Day

By March 29, 2017No Comments

I’m heading across the Irish Sea tomorrow to Liverpool to facilitate a number of sessions at the Global Greens Congress http://greens2017.org/content/stiofan-nutty over the next few days. The Green European Foundation have engaged me to facilitate http://gef.eu/event/gef-global-greens-european-green-party-congress-2017/?_sft_tribe_events_cat=workshop a gathering of green foundations and institutes from across the world. Although I’ve moderated many European events this is the first time I will be facilitating participants who are coming from the four corners of the world. This will present new challenges but I’m really excited by the prospect. Success will be measured by the level of interaction and co-operation that will follow between the participants after they depart from Liverpool. Fan go bhfeicfimid!

Facilitating “Strategy Day” for the Mediators Institute of Ireland

As I head to Liverpool I can reflect with satisfaction on last weeks special meeting of the Horticulture Industry Forum http://hif.ie/. After 2 years working as Coordinator of the HIF, we have built the Forum to the stage that we now all sectors represented and as of last Wednesday March 22nd the Minister of Horticulture and the Department of Agriculture have become formally engaged in the Forum. The aim now will be to build the industry and deliver the conditions to enable Ireland maximise its vegetable and fruit growing potential .

I am also very happy with my work as facilitator for the recent Mediators Institute of Ireland Strategy Day. The MII has an exciting year ahead as finally the Mediation Bill, which we have been waiting on for over 5 years, winds its way through the Oireachtas in the coming weeks! Interesting times
